Summary: Obaidul Labs ("we", "our", or "us") operates QRush (QR Studio). We are fully committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information is used, how permissions are utilized, and your privacy rights under Google Play Store policies, GDPR, and CCPA.

1. Information We Collect and Process

Our philosophy is simple: your data belongs to you. We design our applications to minimize any data collection.

A. Information Processed Locally on Your Device (Not Transmitted)

  • Camera Video Stream: Used strictly in real-time to locate and decode QR codes and barcodes. Frames are processed directly in your device RAM and are immediately discarded.
  • Image & Photo Files: When you choose to scan a QR code from your gallery or screenshot, the image is parsed locally. It is never uploaded to any remote server or third party.
  • Scan & Creation History: The QR codes you scan or generate are saved strictly inside your local device database (SQLite / AsyncStorage). You can clear this history anytime.

B. Automatically Collected Technical Information (Third-Party SDKs)

To support app maintenance, stability, and monetization, our app may use standard third-party developer services provided by Google:

  • Google Play Services: Used for core platform functionality, app updates, and framework dependencies.
  • Google AdMob (Advertising): May collect pseudonymous device identifiers (e.g., Android Advertising ID), general IP-based coarse location, and app interaction data to serve personalized or non-personalized advertisements according to your device ad settings.

2. Device Permissions & Purpose

To deliver core QR scanning and generation features, the app requests the following Android and iOS permissions:

Permission Platform Purpose & Data Handling
CAMERA Android & iOS Required to point your camera at QR codes and barcodes to scan them in real time. Video feeds are processed on-device and never stored or sent anywhere.
READ_MEDIA_IMAGES / Photo Library Android & iOS Optional. Allows you to select an existing picture or screenshot from your device to scan for QR codes.
WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE / Save Photos Android & iOS Optional. Allows you to export and save custom generated QR code images directly to your photo album.
INTERNET & Network State Android & iOS Used to load web links when you tap "Open URL", and to fetch advertisements and library dependencies via Google AdMob.
VIBRATE Android Provides short haptic vibration feedback upon successful scan completion (can be toggled in Settings).

3. Third-Party Services & Privacy Policies

We work with trusted third-party providers who may collect non-personally identifiable diagnostic and advertising data in accordance with their respective privacy policies:

4. Google Play Data Safety Compliance

In accordance with Google Play's Data Safety declaration requirements:

  • Data Shared: We do not sell or share any personal user data with data brokers or unaffiliated third parties.
  • Data Encrypted in Transit: Any network communication handled by third-party SDKs (such as AdMob) utilizes industry-standard HTTPS / TLS encryption.
  • Data Deletion Request: Because we do not store user accounts or personal records on cloud servers, all your scan history and generated codes can be instantly permanently deleted by clearing the app data in your phone settings or uninstalling the app.

5. Children's Privacy (COPPA Compliance)

Our app is safe for general audiences and does not knowingly collect, request, or solicit any personal information from children under the age of 13 (or under 16 in the European Union). If we become aware that personal information from a child has been collected, we will take immediate steps to delete it.

6. Security of Your Data

We prioritize the security of your data by keeping all scanning operations local to your hardware. No cloud database holds your generated passwords, Wi-Fi credentials, contact cards, or scanned links.

7. Your Privacy Rights (GDPR & CCPA)

Depending on your jurisdiction (such as California or the European Economic Area), you have rights regarding your data:

  • Opt-Out of Personalized Ads: You can reset or opt-out of interest-based ads via your Android Settings (Settings > Google > Ads > Reset Advertising ID / Delete Advertising ID).
  • Right to Deletion: You can wipe all history, bookmarks, and settings by clicking "Clear Data" inside the app or in device settings.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy periodically to reflect app updates or regulatory changes. Any modifications will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" timestamp.
